Originally from Great Britain, Win first moved to Oakville with her family in 1976. In 1994, Win moved to California and opened a prestigious gallery in Laguna Beach.  While there, Ms. Henstock studied with some of California's most notable artists – Ken Auster, John Cosby, Roger Armstrong and Timothy Clark.  While traveling to London, she had the good fortune of guidance from Master watercolorist John Yardley.  Upon returning to Oakville, Win struggled with the idea of opening a gallery, but her love of art won out and Win Henstock Gallery Oakville was opened in 2006.

Win is noted for her "Plein Aire" style - the art of painting from nature or "on scene".  In various weather conditions, Plein Aire artists capture the true meaning of the term, expressing light and shadow and representing the atmosphere as it appears before them. Absorbing nature in its ever changing moods takes great concentration, a keen eye, a skilled brush!

Some of Win's most delightful paintings are those of children; playing on a beach, skating on a pond or flying kites. She portrays the essence of the moment.  Since returning to Oakville, Win has painted wonderful local scenes – Main Street shops, Gairloch Gardens, Lakeshore Road, and scenes along Lake Ontario with gusty winds and billowy sails in the distance. Her paintings are joyous and vibrant, expressing the fondness she has for the outdoors and her community.
